• Fashion: mirco-patterned perfection

You may remember us raving about the first Patternity x Clarks collaboration when David received a pair for his birthday, well now David’s Christmas present is sorted because the AW14 collaboration has landed!

Much more subtle then the previous collection, the desert boots stay true to the signature Patternity style – focusing on the mantra ‘look closer, notice more’, the boots design incorporates tiny geometric shapes of circles, triangles and squares which have been inspired by all those forms which surround us everywhere we go.

Like the previous season, there are two colour ways to choose from, a sleek all black and a vibrant monochrome. The boots retail at £95 and can be found here!

  • Interiors: balancing act

If you’re not familiar with Melody Rose then why on earth not? The pieces are beautiful and special with each one featuring a whimsical illustration bound to put a smile on your face.

They’ve now launched a new collection, ‘Acts of Daring’, inspired by the old world glamour of life in the circus. Consisting of plates, teapots, jugs, cups and saucers, the collection features an array of soaring trapeze artists and tightrope walkers all of which tell a magical story.

  •  Food: Ready, set, bake!

This week’s food is quite simply the fabulous Great British Bake Off. So far we’ve not only had amazingly srummy looking biscuits and cakes but there has been a binned baked alaska, ice cream drama, a public uproar and an unhappy Mary Berry. Amongst it all however, is this babe who we were sad to see go…

  • Places to go: A bit of Dutch courage

As part of London Design Festival 2014, Dutch homewares brand HAY have snuck a cute little Mini Market into the basement of Selfridges. A haven for anything from cool stationary to slick side tables, this is the brand’s first independent ‘store’ in the UK, albeit a pop-up.

Stocked in retailers like Habitat, HAY have a unique and quirky way of finding things that you don’t *really* need but want quite badly. With an eclectic colour palette, there’s something for every home – but not necessarily every budget. That being said – it’s worth a browse!

The shop will be in Selfridges until January.

  1. I like desert boots, especially the micro pattern, but I still think combat boots are more versatile since you can wear them when hiking or mountain climbing.
