Welcome to the first post from Forward Features!

We have created this blog to document our journey of sourcing a flat and creating our dream home in London. Having been together for over 2 years, we thought it was finally time to look at renting our first property together. David & Mark

Our experiences of living in London so far have been quite interesting. Mark has gone from sharing a studio flat to becoming a Property Guardian with the Camelot scheme. He currently lives in an old school in South London with four lovely people and a feet-obsessed ninja cat called Pumpkin. David currently lives in Zone 6 (yes, there is actually a zone 6) and has been living with a friend since university three years ago – but don’t worry, he has a Waitrose out there.

With property prices spiralling into ridiculousness, renting is our only option at the moment – and renting on a budget! Ideally seeking a one or two bedroom flat in SW17 postcode, we have our hearts set on Balham, Tooting Bec and anywhere in between and are aiming to make the move and be settled in September. Not ones to cast our nets too wide, the area has grown on us since Mark moved here in 2013. The newly opened Bodeans on Balham High Road certainly sealed the deal.

Surrounded by interiors on a daily basis, we certainly have an eye and know what we want in terms of property and interior design. Having both worked in interiors PR for a combined six years, we have amassed both a wealth of ideas, inspirations and our own signature interior styles.

We look forward to sharing the journey with you and hope to inspire and share what ideas we discover as we go. Running in line with our Twitter account, you can keep up to date with what’s happening and what industry and trend related news we uncover.

We are always open to suggestions and comments and look forward to receiving these from you!

Speak soon,

David & Mark x
