After spending the weekend splishing and splashing in Tooting Bec Lido, we thought we’d take a dip into an ombre inspired trend post. For those who are not familiar with ombre, it’s basically graduated/fading colour, or dip dye if you will. Basically the same thing which most girls did with their hair last year except on bowls and cushions.
You can create some really cool effects with this trend and it works well for any colour scheme, whether it’s muted palettes of grey and white, ice cream pastels or zingy neons, ombre can be applied throughout the home, from vases and cushions which adorn the living room or for the braver home bird then perhaps feature walls and staircases.
Dip dye is also a great tip for upcycling and refreshing old furniture and there are some wonderful online tutorials to guide you through the process. We’ve already got a few dreary looking pieces which we’re planning to revamp simply with some tape and spray paint.
