• Fashion: The EMG Initiative

The EMG Initiative is a new charity project about to launch at the end of July. Launched by London based designer and artist Alex Noble, EMG will take left over waste fabrics from fashion houses such as Giles Deacon and Agi & Sam to create new, wearable pieces.

Cycle 1 will be the Salvage T’s collection and will include a variety of beautifully printed t-shirts. These will be sold at a pop-up store at 1 Silver Place in Soho for an exclusive period from the 25th July.

All money raised will go to charities TRAID and ChildHope, so not only are you buying something wonderfully special but you’re also helping a worthy cause.

For all news and updates head to www.emginitiative.com and follow them on Twitter @EMGINITIATIVE.

  • Interiors: Fiera Magazine

Launched by confessions of a design geek‘s Katie Treggiden and MagCulture‘s Jeremy Leslie, Fiera Magazine is a biannual independent print magazine championing new designers.

We were lucky to go to the launch event at The New Craftsman – it’s a wonderful, design-led magazine which showcases the best in new talent within the design and interiors world.

With a huge amount of design fairs, shows and festivals which make there way around many a city, the idea is that new and exciting designers which are discovered at these shows are then presented editorially in Fiera.

The first issue will be published in November 2014 so make sure you keep an eye out!

  • Food: Le Pain

Before getting soaked at Pride on Saturday we started the day off right with a long and lazy brunch at Le Pain. Sat their ‘Communal Table’ we enjoyed the Butchers Brunch, which came with a selection of cooked meats, granola, breads and pastries – plus a coffee and an orange juice – not a bad selection for £14.95! We’d suggest it for a great way to start off a weekend and be prepared to not finish it all…

  • Places to go: Vintage a-go-go

Being the huge fans of vintage we are, we had to pop this in to the calender for this weekend. Bought to you by Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair, the Vintage Furniture Flea is an interior geeks dream. Boasting up to 50 top vintage traders and including pieces from many decades of the 20th Century, this is definitely not one to miss. We’re hoping to bag a bargain and find something special for the flat!

I’m sure we’ll see you there – just look for the two furniture crazed mad men!

Sunday 6th July, from 10:30am (earlybird £2) 11am (£3) until 4:30pm in Bethnal Green.

It’s the début tune ‘Home’ from The Voice contestant Leah McFall and it hasn’t come off repeat.
