In order to make the living together as seamless as possible, we’ve decided to be grown ups and get a joint account. Needless to say, the process isn’t as exciting as we’d like it to be.
It’s definitely an option we’d been thinking about and upon reflection, it’s the easiest thing to do. As we’re both with Barlcay’s, we decided this was the most logical choice. Wow, this really is boring eh?
However, it’s making us feel really quite grown up. This is the first time either of us has lived with a partner before and had quite such a long lease. Is this the beginning of the end of wild nights and binge drinking? Will our weekends now be made up of trips to Ikea and finding the right kind of easy-listening album?
There’s no doubt that our penchant for red wine will get the better of us over time and we think it’s safe to say we’re not going to be having any Ke$ha-style nights out any time soon, but does moving in together and getting ‘grown-up’ things like joint accounts mean we’re going to let go of our youth? Let’s hope not.
Neither of us are exactly reaching for the anti-wrinkle cream just yet, so why the doubt?
Now, where are our pipes and slippers…
