Year after year we see interiors trends roll on by, from big themes like Scandi and Shabby Chic (ugh!), to smaller trends like owls and the one which seems it will never quite die – copper!
Here’s what we think will be coming to a living room near you in 2015…
Mid-Century Modern
Think Mad Men and Bewitched, this trend takes us back to the fifties with the use of clean lines, space-age prints, lighter woods and experimentation with metal.

This look is rather retro but can be brought in to the 21st Century – look to brands such as Mini Moderns, Hopper & Space and Orla Kiely for some modernised interpretations.

Botanical
This one seems to crop up year after year when Spring is on its way and you may have already spotted some flora-themed features already gracing the pages of your favorite magazines, but when there are places like House of Hackney providing swoon-worthy palm prints and floral motifs, we can see why it’s always a winner.

Expect plenty of greenery (naturally), bugs and bees, leaf motifs and natural woods. We personally love this look in a bathroom – even the simplest of white walls can be transformed in to a jungle-esque haven with some plant hangers, a wicker laundry basket and a few pieces of floral artwork.
Good old botanical – long may it flourish!

Marble
Although copper doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere quite soon we think they’ll be a new contender in the running. Marble isn’t quite our style but done right who says this couldn’t work. It doesn’t have to be all Italian style with marble cherubs and grand tables, instead you could opt for some subtler accessories which are marble effect.

We’d use marble in small doses alongside bursts of gold to add a wonderful luxe touch.

Shades of blue
Move over Marsala, step aside Copper Blush… we think blue is going to shine this year and are going to be the perfect pairing for this years interiors trends.
Take marble for instance – marble set against a Napoleonic blue will look rich and royal, or perhaps with our tag-along buddy; copper, where a cobalt blue will go along way to make that metallic shine. Even with the above Mid-Century Modern trend, a blue with pops of vibrant brights and geometric prints will look incredible.

1. Chest of drawers from IKEA | 2. Napoleonic Blue Annie Sloan Chalk Paint from Rigby & Mac | 3. Ceramic Bottle from Made.com | 4. Cushion from BHS | 5. Wire Candle Holder from Oliver Bonas
Graphic Africa
Bright, colourful and vibrant is the name of the game.
We’re predicting graphic prints, tribal themes, natural woods and bold pieces of art. This globetrotting style takes us on safari and in to the wild all from the comfort of the home.

We reckon they’ll be some worldly homewares on the horizon from antique and vintage style map prints to warming brights and pops of Aztec graphics.
There’s plenty of wanderlust ahead!
1. Rug from Urban Outfitters | 2. Tea Towel from The Tab Collective | 3. Down to the Watering Hole Side Table from Abigail Ahern | 4. Africa by Air Wall Art from M&S | 5. Clay Vase from dwell |
And that’s what we think is up and coming in the world of interiors for the year ahead.
What do you think the trends this year will be and will you be jumping on board with any of the above?
