As the long nights fade away and we get used to the fact we’ve just set our clocks an hour ahead, it can only mean one thing – Summer is on it’s way! It’s time to pack away those winter clothes and heavy tog duvets and get our brighter colours on. Last week, we sat down for breakfast with Very.co.uk and had a nosey around the key trends with the High Summer collection.

The guys at Very.co.uk have launched two key trends for the High Summer Season – Homespun and Elegant Exile. Each have soft palettes that make a perfect accompaniment to the weather as it heats up. Expect natural tones offset with rich purples and complimented by pastel colours – everything you need to bring summer into the home and beyond…

Think Mary Berry went on a little bit of an acid trip and fell down the rabbit hole, we’re loving the fun and playful nature of the Homespun collection. Stand out pieces for us were the updates to the classic ceramic mixing bowl, with new versions in cute pinks and purples. Screen Shot 2017-03-25 at 14.49.15

If Summer baking isn’t for you, then maybe you’ll want to check out Elegant Exile. The collection is inspired by the deep and magical colours of the sunset and we’re hoping the sun doesn’t go down on some of the pieces we saw here. Plus it’s time to get outdoors…

Get in the garden with Very.co.uk’s collection of rattan furniture and outdoor-safe soft furnishings. We love the colour clash here and it’s definitely time to have some fun in the sun.

There’s also a darker and more refined tone to this collection with deep purples taking centre stage in the home. The inspiration behind this colour choice for high summer is the hues that are seen in the sky around sunset. Think about when you sink that 5th or 6th glass of red on your hotel balcony and the colours that are created by the sky.

Are you thinking as far ahead as summer yet, or are you still spring-cleaning? If you are – are you leaning more towards Homespun or Elegant Exile? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter.

We’re away to elegantly exile ourselves with some wine,
