With Christmas just a few weeks away, we’re not unfamiliar with the fact that brands are already thinking about Spring Summer 2015. It seems a little weird to be thinking about summer products in December, but it’s not as weird as the infamous ‘Christmas in July’. We were recently invited to Urban Outfitters SS15 Press Show and as fans of the brand, we were looking forward to seeing what they had in-store for us.
Having being avid fans of Urban’s homewares range, we were excited about seeing their new collection – as well as having a little swatch of next year’s menswear (we like to be ahead of the curve, see). They had a couple of furniture pieces on display, which stuck to their usual ‘loft-living’ aesthetic with a touch of skani which we are always a fan of. However, it was the accessories that really caught our eye.
As previously reported, we’ve seen copper everywhere and the colour is not going anywhere soon. This fantastic pendant light caught our eye. It’s a bit Tom Dixon-esque but we can probably afford this one… As well as this, we saw a fantastic pair of copper earphones – and when matched with a Marshall amp, makes for sweet, sweet music.
Another trend we spotted was for a tribal pattern. Not exactly groundbreaking for Urban, but they do it well. From dreamcatchers to engraved record players, it was nice to see something a little different. They also had variations on camping mugs, giving their full collection a bit of an outdoor vibe. Perfect for SS15.
