The lovely Sophie Ellis-Bextor has been named the face of Dulux‘s Colour of the Year Copper Blush.
It seems quite unusual to have a celebrity as “a face” of a colour but Dulux have done this exceptionally well and we feel Sophie is a fantastic choice. Ethereal and pretty in pink, the campaign perfectly sums up the sweet warmth of the colour – see for yourself…
There’s also a lovely behind-the-scenes video where you can hear Sophie reading the Emily Dickinson poem “To See Her Is a Picture”, a poem which, along with Pre-Raphaelite art, inspired the film. The singer and SCD contestant described reading the poem as “special” as she’s a personal fan of Emily Dickinson.
She commented on the 2015 Colour of the Year saying: “Copper really is everywhere at the moment and totally on trend so it’s no surprise that ‘Copper Blush’ is this year’s Colour of the Year. This shade is full of warmth and it was a real pleasure to wake up in such a beautifully styled bedroom setting”
We’re already huge fans of Copper Blush and have used it on a couple of our own upcycling projects but this video definitely makes us long for sleepy Summer days lazing about in the sunshine.
What do you think of Sophie as the face of Copper Blush? Do you think she was a good choice?
