As part of London Design Festival, Somerset House has introduced London’s first Design Biennale.
With around 40 nations participating, the events theme is Utopia by Design. Curated by leading museums and design organisations, each installation looks at ideas of culture, the environment, sustainability, the future, the past and the present. As its the 500th anniversary of Sir Thomas More’s book, Utopia, it’s the perfect concept to explore.
The world re-imagining the world through innovative design. The London Design Biennale is on until Tuesday 27th. It’s a ticketed event but definitely worth the trip. We’d recommend heading to Turkey to leave a wish in The Wish Machine, a trip to Poland to choose your utopia and, of course, United Kingdom for Barber & Osgerby’s installation, Forecast. India, South Africa and France were just a few of our other show highlights.
