We recently took a trip to Top Drawer to attend a screen printing workshop with print designer, Dan Heath.
It’s always one thing seeing beautiful design on a brands website or in a magazine but when it’s in person its fantastic to get a true sense of the craftsmanship, skill and story. In The Window, an online platform for brands to showcase stories and collections, hosted the screen printing session and it was fantastic to see Dan Heath’s wallpaper brought to life.
We don’t know about you but it’s easy to take it for granted how much skill goes behind design. Dan’s wallpaper is so intricately beautiful and seeing the screen printing process was really interesting. The design of choice? A stunning New York motif inspired by the 1920s.
Adding a bright spark to proceedings, Pooky provided beautiful copper pendant lights which inspired Dan to add a metallic tone to the Art Deco design.
You think that wallpaper is nice? Here’s a taster of some of the other styles Dan was exhibiting and a few of our personal favourites…
The theme of the workshop was #LivetheStory and now we’ve seen the process behind Dan’s work, we truly have got a sense of his story.
