British Heart Foundation Makeover Challenge

There are amazing charities out there, we all know that. But the British Heart Foundation is certainly one that is, and pardon the pun, close to our hearts. We’ll come to exactly why later. For starters though, we got approached by the British Heart Foundation several months back about a really exciting project which we…

A Chair Affair 2: An Upholstery Story With A Happy Ending

It’s mad to think that it was nearly four years ago that we discovered our little wooden chair – read the full story here – and we’re so excited to announce that it’s finally had a makeover! It was the first piece we purchased together for a mere £10 at a charity shop in Tooting…

A Simple Way to Update Your Sofa

Remember when we got that sofa from Freecycle? It’s been a permanent fixture in our little lounge, but as we make tweaks here and there – like including some jazzy new houseplants – we decided it needed a bit of love. Like we all know, cushions and soft furnishings can change the whole look of…

How to give a makeover to a simple chest of drawers

Last weekend we decided to upcycle an old chest of drawers. David had purchased these several years back when he first moved to London from IKEA however, as handy as they are, we’ve hated them since we moved in to our South London hub – they stick out like a sore thumb in the bedroom.…

Putting some funk in our trunk…

You may remember we found a cute little trunk on Gumtree a while back? You know, the horrid black painted number with the weird Chinese Dragon? Anyway, we’ve finally got around to giving this little piece a lick of paint and a complete makeover. Over the past month of being in the flat, the trunk…

How to make Copper Blush when upcycling a mirror

Filled with inspiration from the Dulux Colour Futures talk and gratefully supplied with a couple of tins of their Colour of the Year; Copper Blush, we decided to (finally) upcycle one of our many pieces of furniture which we’ve had in the ‘to paint’ pile. David bought this mirror several years ago from Wilko‘s… The…

On Saturday we headed out to Dulwich to the Volcano Coffee Works Café for an Annie Sloan paint workshop hosted by Rigby & Mac and it was great! AD Why care about air? As well as being good for your physical health, clean, fresh air can also give your mental health a boost too. We got our hands on a @briiv.natural - the world’s most sustainable air purifier. Each unit has the same amount of purifying goodness as over 3,000 medium-sized houseplants (sadly our flat can’t hold that many) and is made from fully

Hi friends 👋🏼. It’s been a busy few weeks here, not only with work but we also jetted off to Barcelona for Primavera festival, which was 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 and luckily came back to healthy looking plants despite our initial worry 😅. We got those ball thingys which release the water slowly. Worked a charm! Back to the 9-5 now though, wish us luck 🙏🏻
Just spent our lunch time discussing the nook again which is such a dead space and needs so much love. We just don’t know what to do with it 😭. After watching Interior Design Masters we keep talking about banquette seating, which could be cute. Anyway - on the note of Interior Design Masters, what did everyone think of the final? Well deserved in our eyes 👏🏼
